James Arthur has reportedly split from girlfriend, Jessica Grist.

According to The Sun, the X Factor 2012 winner is back on the market, with a source claiming his busy schedule is to blame.

[related]They told the tabloid: "James is absolutely gutted. He thought Jessica was The One and was looking forward to a bright future.

"But his touring schedule and dedication to his new music resulted in them seeing less and less of each other.

“They’re both pals and it ended on a good note. He’ll be pouring his heartbreak into writing his new album. It’ll give him some good material.”

Meanwhile, if J-Arth needs a shoulder to cry on, it seems he can turn to former archenemy and fellow XF winner Matt Cardle.

Despite the pair previously locked in a feud over record sales, Cardle took to Twitter this week to reveal he'd been hanging out with James!

Matt wrote: "Great to meet you tonight @JamesArthur23 let’s knock boots soon."

His comment left fans more than confused, with many pointing out that the term 'knock boots' is slang for having sex!

However, the Impossible singer seemed unfazed by his message, replying: "Yessir! Was a pleasure to meet you to man! What a handsome man you are in the flesh Chill soon brother."

It seems we may have a new bromance on our hands...
