James Arthur Vows To Quit Twitter For Good

James Arthurhas vowed to leave Twitter “for good” after getting into a spat with comedian Frankie Boyle on the social networking site.

The X Factor winner had taken to Twitter earlier in the day to explain his anti-gay rap – which he created in response to an underground rapper called Micky Worthless, who had attacked him in a track.

The Mirror reports that J-Arth and Boyle exchanged insults (including jibes about the singer's teeth) when it became apparent the comedian wasn’t ready to let his homophobic comments go that easily.

When James joked: "If I was a girl I'd really want you," Frankie hit back by comparing him to a "post-op Miley Cyrus".

"@JamesArthur23 Well you look like a post-op Miley Cyrus, so why not get it on? Oh, that's right, because of your rampant homophobia.”

Following the spat, the Impossible singer posted to say he was coming off the social networking site. He wrote: "#LOVE to my fans but I'm coming off twitter for good. HQ will be doing all my tweets from now on. PEACE!"

Before J-Arth vowed to leave the site, he posted a telling message which suggested that the controversial rap was not his only regret from this year.

"Learnt a lot this year. Hurt a lot this year. F**ked up a lot this year. Loved a lot this year. Lost a lot this year. Roll on 2014. #LOVE"
