Simon Cowell Slams X Factor Winners James Arthur And Sam Bailey
Simon said James should have been told to "Shut up"...
X Factor boss Simon Cowell has criticized James Arthur for his public meltdown last year.
“I think James, unfortunately, has had so many issues with what he has done publicly – which is a real issue with me,” Simon told Metro. “Somebody should have told him to shut up and just put the records out.”
James, who won X Factor in 2012, was slammed last autum for using homophobic lyrics in a rap and allegedly sending misogynistic text messages.
In December, he returned to the X Factor to sing his latest track and used the opportunity to apologise.
"There's been incredible highs paired with some terrible lows. I've made a few very silly mistakes," he said at the time.
James isn’t the only X Factor winner, Simon has taken issue with, however, also telling Metro: “Sam Bailey will have a very successful debut album. (Is she) going to be as good as the final year we did? No. That was a very special year. I would love to find another Olly Murs or something similar to Olly.”
"To be honest, X Factor has had so many joke acts and not people that had potential."
One thing James and Sam - who won last year's show - have in common is that they both won the series during Simon’s absence. The millionaire mogul took three years off the show to launch X Factor USA while Gary Barlow took over judging duties on the UK version.
Simon will be returning to the UK show this season, however, alongside his favourite sparring partner Cheryl Cole.
I look around for desire, love run away
Hold back, we're falling down, and I show you how it breaks
If I can give it, I'll take it, all of the way
And I've got a lot left to learn, babe
You're nobody 'til somebody loves you
It's hard times when nobody wants you
Fill up my cup, don't ever stop coming
Get up on top, we'll make it pop, honey
You're nobody 'til somebody loves you
It's a cold heart when nobody holds you
Fill up my cup, don't ever stop coming
Get up on top, we'll make it pop, honey
The cold start coming down
I was way above the place
I waited up for the day, now the day comes for me
When I look back we're falling down, you live with a break
You'd always give it, I take it, all the way, yeah
We've still got so much to learn, babe
You're nobody 'til somebody loves you
It's hard times when nobody wants you
Fill up my cup, don't ever stop coming
Get up on top, we'll make it pop, honey
You're nobody 'til somebody loves you
It's a cold heart when nobody holds you
Fill up my cup, don't ever stop coming
Get up on top, we'll make it pop, honey, yeah
Don't you stop me, I will get what's coming to me
I am ready, baby, I will be somebody
Don't you stop me, I will get what's coming to me
I am ready, baby, I will be somebody
You're nobody 'til somebody loves you
It's hard times when nobody wants you
Fill up my cup, don't ever stop coming
Get up on top, we'll make it pop, honey
You're nobody 'til somebody loves you
It's a cold heart when nobody holds you
Fill up my cup, don't ever stop coming
Get up on top, we'll make it pop, honey
