Things From The Internet Guaranteed To Cheer You Up On Blue Monday
Beat the doldrums with a little help from James Blunt, Farage et al…
Today, Monday 19th January, is meant to be the most depressing day of the year – aka Blue Monday. A combination of the winter chill, low post-Christmas funds and those rotten diet resolutions are just a few of the things said to attribute, but here at MTV we’re not down with being blue.
Turn yourself a sunny shade of yellow again with these five wonderful things from the web.
Frank Ocean’s Released A Beauty
The illusive chanteur paid tribute to Aaliyah over the weekend, with his beautiful version of The Isley Brothers’ track, ‘At Your Best (You Are Love)’. Aaliyah, who would have been 36 on January 16th, covered the song on her album Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number. You can stream Frank’s rendition and feel your heart glow here.
Nigel Farage Wants You To Egg Him
Because people have been continuously egging the UKIP offices in Cardiff and Penarth, the party have constructed a picture of leader Farage with a target over his face, asking people to hit the target rather than the building in general. Whether or not it’ll work is another matter…

James Blunt’s Done Another Funny
James Blunt has had a decent run of internet humour of late, taking to personally responding to abusive tweets, in a generally hilarious manner. He’s now bit back at a Labour MP who said rich people dominate the arts world. In an open letter in The Guardian, Blunt has called MP Chris Bryant a “classist gimp” and a “prejudiced waddock”, and has signed it “James Cucking Funt”. Fiery. You can read the whole letter here.
Zayn Malik’s Had A Haircut
Toot toot! Zayn’s got rid of his slicked-back ’do and replaced it with an equally slicked-back shorter crop. Inevitably, it looks delicious, so we’ve compiled a gallery of tasty topknots to cheer your eyes up. Peep it below.

Years & Years Have A New Video And It’s Choreographed By The Guy Who Did ‘Chandelier’
MTV Brand New nominees and recent winners of the BBC Sound of 2015 poll, Years & Years, have released a new video for their exceptional track ‘King’. It’s been choreographed by Ryan Heffington, who’s responsible for the moves in Sia’s ‘Chandelier’, and FKA twigs’ ‘Google Glass’ and ‘Video Girl’ music videos. In it, band members get grabbed from every angle, with lead singer Olly being quite literally shoved around for four minutes. The most delightful bit of mild aggression you’ll see all day.
