Are The 'Trainspotting' Team Set To Take Over The Next Bond Movie?

Danny Boyle could be directing then next James Bond movie. Here are all the details.

The rumour mill is going into overdrive about the next instalment in the Bond franchise, with Trainspotting director Danny Boyle reportedly the frontrunner to direct the next movie.

Not only that, but he might be about to re-team with his Trainspotting collaborator John Hodge, who is apparently knocking up a draft for a script.

Boyle apparently has a firm idea for the new film, and it’s that concept that Hodge is using to work up a script. Should MGM decide to move forwards with it, it will be the seventh time the duo have worked together, having previously collaborated on Shallow Grave,Trainspotting,A Life Less Ordinary,The Beach,Trance, andTrainspotting 2.

The studio are already sitting on a screenplay from Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, but if they need to sign off on a whole new script to land Boyle, the feeling is that they’re ready to do so. All we know is that the last time Boyle worked with Daniel Craig, we got that ace Bond cameo in the Olympics opening ceremony, so if there’s more of the same on the horizon, we’re all for it. Bond 25 is set to hit screens in late 2019.
