First Listen To Adele's Skyfall Theme Song Hits The 'Net

Fans treated to sneak preview of British star's James Bond song...

The first audio clip of Adele's eagerly anticipated theme song for the forthcoming James Bond movie Skyfall has surfaced on the web.
A one-and-a-half-minute segment of the track has been placed on audio-sharing site Soundcloud, getting a rapturous response from listeners.

Composed of brooding, luxurious strings and soaring vocals - the track follows the classic Bond song template, even incorporating the famous four chords of the James Bond Theme itself.
Lyrics include: "Let the sky fall/ When it crumbles/ We will stand tall/ And face it all together."
Adele only [uuid=f131676a-fff6-4807-99e8-e2449d174b38]officially announced she was singing the Skyfall theme[/uuid] yesterday, but it has been an open secret for a year or so that she was involved with the project.
In a statement issued yesterday, she commented: "I was a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song for Skyfall.
"There's a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song. But I fell in love with the script and Paul had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no brainer to do it in the end.
"It was also a lot of fun writing to a brief, something I've never done which made it exciting. When we recorded the strings, it was one of the proudest moments of my life.
"I'll be back combing my hair when I'm 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day I'm sure."
The track is available to pre-order on iTunes now and will get its full premiere very early this Friday morning, 5 October.
Skyfall opens in cinemas on 26 October.
