James Bond Has Got A Secret In Awesome First Spectre Trailer

Daniel Craig searches in the shadows in atmospheric promo...

The anticipation for Sam Mendes' follow-up to Skyfall is higher than for any movie in the long history of the James Bond franchise - and early signs are that the director is not going to disappoint us.

The first trailer for Mendes' Spectre has just been released - and it sees Daniel Craig's 007 sifting through the wreckage - literally and metaphorically - of the events of the previous film.

Naomie Harris' Moneypenny is heard telling him: "You've got a secret. Something you can't tell anyone, because you don't trust anyone."

And the action then cuts to the Austrian Alps, where we see Bond visiting the sinister Mr White (Jesper Christensen) at a remote Alpine chalet.

"I always knew death would wear a familiar face," he greets 007. "But not yours."

After a bit more gloomy chit-chat, the creepy looking villain tells him: "You're a kite dancing in a hurricane Mr Bond."

The final segment of the trailer sees the tension upped still further, as the superspy attends a clandestine board meeting in a very grand hall - obviously a Spectre gathering.

And he is greeted by the silhouetted form of Ernst Stavro Blofeld, apparently played by Christoph Waltz.

We now want to see this film approximately 100 times more than we did when we woke up this morning - but we'll have to wait until it hit cinemas in November.
