British TV star James Corden is rumoured to be heading for a job in the US - as the host of his own chat show.

[related]According to The Mirror, the Gavin & Stacey actor is in the final stage of talks to replace the current host of The Late Late Show, Craig Ferguson, who announced his departure in April this year.

The show, which airs on CBS in America, would make Corden a household name in the States, following his Broadway performance in One Man Two Guvnors, which won a Tony Award back in 2012.

But a source close to the actor reportedly told the Mirror that his role as host of The Late Late Show could be for a limited time only, instead of a permanent fixture.

The rumours have yet to be confirmed either by James or by CBS. It looks like he’ll be busy Stateside either way - he is set to appear in upcoming Disney musical Into The Woods.
