Move Over Drake, James Corden Is Releasing A Rap Album!
Branding himself 'The White Will Smith', the Into The Woods actor is on a mission to bring back "old school rap" with his new 'release'...
Yep, you read correctly! During an interview with MTV News to promote new movie Into The Woods, the funnyman let slip that after warming up his vocal chords on set, he's planning to unleash his "fresh" rhymes on the world.
When asked about his singing talents, the former Gavin & Stacey star exclusively revealed: "I'm not actually meant to give this information away but I'll tell you because it's MTV News that I've just signed a huge record deal with Columbia music.
"I will be releasing (an album), it will mainly be rap, but there will be some singing on it as well and it'll be out in the Spring."
Speaking of who he considers to be his biggest rap rivals, Corden continued: "I'm not going to rival anyone, I'm going to eclipse them all.
"When you hear me spit my lyrics, you know, my rhymes are fresh and my moves are on point - that's what a lot of people are saying about it."
Erupting into laughter, James added: "Like, it's sort of Drake mixed with… I'm gonna bring back old school rap."
He then belted out his very own version of the Fresh Price of Bel Air theme tune, before concluding: "A lot of people do say I'm like the white Will Smith."
Where do we pre-order? If you can't wait for Corden's rap record, the star plays The Baker in Into The Woods, which hits UK cinemas on January 9.
