NBA’s Stephen Curry Nails Frozen & Moana Songs In Carpool Karaoke With ‘Life Coach’ James Corden
“The best lesson I’ve learned from James Corden is how to waste a perfectly good afternoon,” Curry said.
Long as I can remember
Never really knowing why
I wish I could be the perfect daughter
But I come back to the water
No matter how hard I try
Every turn I take
Every trail I track
Every path I make
Every roads leads back
To the place I know
Where I cannot go
Where I long to be
See the line where the sky meets the sea
It calls me
And no one knows
How far it goes
If the wind in my sail on the sea
Stays behind me
One day I know
If I go there's just no telling how far I'll go
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
I know everybody on this island
Seems so happy on this island
Everything is by design
I know everybody on this island has a role on this island
So maybe I can roll with mine
I can lead with pride
I can make us strong
I'll be satisfied
If I play alone
But the voice inside sings a different song
What is wrong with me?
See the line as it shines on the sea
It's blinding
And no one knows
How deep it goes
And it seems like it's calling out of me
So come find me
And let me know
What's beyond that line
Will I cross that line
See the line where the sky meets the sea
It calls me
And no one knows
How far it goes
If the wind in my sail on the sea
Stays behind me
One day I'll know
How far I'll go
James Corden hooked up with Stephen Curry, NBA superstar, to belt out some of the biggest hit songs from Frozen and Moana.
“I’ve come down to the Bay area to spend some time with arguably the greatest shooter in NBA history, Stephen Curry,” said Corden. “What he doesn’t know is that I’m going to make him great in every other aspect of his life.”
Did Stephen manage to pick up anything from James during their time together? “The best lesson I’ve learned from James Corden is how to waste a perfectly good afternoon,” he said.
Before singing Frozen and Moana tracks, Curry proved how, basketball aside, he’s actually great at all games. Miniature gold? He won. That dance game you get in all arcades? His footwork was a delight. Air hockey? He should turn pro.
But – and this is the big question – can Stephen Curry hold a tune? Always one to test himself, Stephen proposed the pair have a little singsong.
“Since we’re in the car, I thought we were going to be doing Carpool Karaoke…that’s what I’ve been dreaming about,” Stephen said.
“Look, everyone thinks that they can Carpool karaoke,” Corden replied. “Everyone thinks they’ve got what it takes. [Stephen's] got to show me, he’s got to earn the right to do it….I made Adele audition for weeks."
"What sort of songs do you listen to in the car?” Corden asked.
“I listen to everything a four-and-a-half-year-old listens to. A lot of Disney. A lot of Moana."
The pair then belted out Moana's 'How Far I'll Go', followed by 'Love is an Open Door' from Frozen, and, you know what, Stephen Curry could have been a lot worse.
In other news, Ed Sheeran and James Corden were recently spotted filming a new episode of Carpool Karaoke. See more here.
Meanwhile, a trailer for Apple Music’s Carpool Karaoke TV series, featuring Corden, John Legend, Pharrell and more, was released. Watch that here.
