Sopranos Stars At James Gandolfini's Funeral
Family, friends and former colleagues say farewell to much-loved actor...
ActorJames Gandolfini has been laid to rest following a funeral service in Manhattan, New York City.
Friends and family were joined by his co-stars from The Sopranos at the Cathedral Church of St John the Divine, with Edie Falco, Lorraine Bracco, Michael Imperioli, Steve Buscemi and Jamie-Lynn Sigler among the mourners.
The Sopranos creator David Chase was among those who spoke at the service, reading an open letter to the late actor - who died last week from a heart attack at the age of 51 while in Italy.
Chase said: "I think you were such a great actor, because of that boy inside. I think your talent is that you can take the immensity of humankind and the universe and shine it right back at us."
And Gandolfini's wife Deborah Lin said: "He cared more about others than himself. He took the time to ask others in the course of the day how they were doing."
The ceremony was filmed by HBO as a private gift to Gandolfini's family.
