James McAvoy is to star alongside Daniel Radcliffein a dramatically different re-telling of the classic Frankenstein story.
It was revealed some time ago that D-Rad [uuid=b12fab01-ef72-40df-b83b-397ec13da8d9]would be playing the scientist's assistant[/uuid] Igor in the movie, and now Deadline reports that X-Men star McAvoy will be playing Victor Von Frankenstein.
Mary Shelley's classic novel has spawned many cinematic versions, and the new movie will be directed by Paul McGuigan - who has previously helmed Gangster No. 1 and Lucky Number Slevin.
Radcliffe has previously praised the script, which was written by Max Landis and tells the story from Igor's perspective.
According to Digital Spy, he said it was "far and away the best script [he's] read coming out of a big studio in the time that [he's] been off Harry Potter".
