Jamie T Bins Lily Allen Track
The singer tells us why he's ditched a track with girl of the moment, Ms Allen...
Singer Jamie T has told MTV.co.uk he's recorded a tune with princess of pop Lily Allen but won't be putting it on his new album.
"I asked Lily to sing on the track and she sounded fantastic - her voice is so pure," the Wimbledon-born tunesmith explains. "But the drum beat is awful so I've chosen not to use it on the album.
"I tried to reproduce it but ended up f*cking it up," he laughs. "The drums were spilling all over the top of her vocals. We had about three or four working titles for the track but I don't think it will ever see the light of day now so it doesn't matter."
Maybe when Lily comes back from the US, where she's been wowing fans (including Gwen Stefani and Lindsay Lohan) with a series of intimate gigs, Jamie will be able to get her back in the studio?
"Maybe. Although not for this album," Mr T told us. "But we've been friends for a while now so we'll see."
The singer song-writer, who's been compared to the likes of Arctic Monkeys and The Streets, won't be too worried about not having his famous pal on his record though - his new tune 'If You've Got The Money' looks set to smash into the Top Ten this Sunday.
"I'm not that bothered about high charts positions at the moment, I'm prepared to get there gradually," he told us. "Although if I break into the top ten it would be quite nice!"
'If You've Got The Money' by Jamie T is out now. The album is out in January.
