The singer gives first interview since Michael’s death…

Janet Jackson has given her first interview since the death of her brother Michael Jackson.
The singer, who will perform a tribute to Michael at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards this weekend, told Harper’s Bazaar that she hasn’t been able to watch the news since her brother’s death, for fear of going crazy. “It will drive you crazy," she said of the MJ news coverage, adding:
"Not everyone is made of stone."
In the interview, the 43-year-old also talks about a day she spent with Michael less than six weeks before he died. "We had so much fun that day," said. Janet "We kept calling each other after and saying how great it was."
The singer goes on to praise the strength of her mother Katherine: "I always wanted to have my mother's strength, but I didn't know if it was really there."
Tune-in to the MTV Video Music Awards this Monday at 9pm on MTV One to catch Janet Jackson’s tribute to Michael.
