Janet Jackson has been rushed to hospital after the superstar "got suddenly ill" - according to one of her representatives.

In a statement released by W&W Public Relations, on Monday the sister of MJ cancelled her concert in Montreal, Canada after she "got suddenly ill" before completing her sound check.

Before the show was supposed to begin, 42-year-old Ms Jackson was rushed to hospital after feeling ill - although there is no confirmed information about her condition.

The announcement was made to fans five minutes before LL Cool J was about to open for JJ.

Early reports suggest that Jackson's condition is being monitored at the hospital - no further details are known at this time.

The promoter Groupe Spectacles Gillette said that they hope to try and reschedule the show.
