Giant Japan Fundraiser Gig Planned
Wembley rumoured as venue for Japanese tsunami benefit…
It has been reported that major record labels Sony and Universal are to hold a huge fundraising gig for the people affected by the disastrous tsunami that took place recently in Japan.
Although nothing has been confirmed to date, the concert looks likely to be held at Wembley Arena and will see labels partner with promoters Live Nation to make sure it’s one of the biggest events ever held.
A source told The Sun: "The super-gig will be the biggest concert in years and a huge global spectacle. No names have been confirmed yet, but the organisers are expecting a massive response from acts of all eras. They're hoping the TV audience numbers will break records."
Japan was hit by an 8.9 magnitude earthquake on 11 March - its largest quake in at least 100 years - followed by massive tsunamis striking its coastal cities.
Thousands have died as a result and many more have been displaced.
