Jared Leto & Celine Dion Pay Tribute To Paris At The AMAs
"The entire world matters and peace is possible”.
Last night’s AMAs were a glitzy celebration of the biggest musicians in the industry right now, but recent tragic events weren’t far from anyone’s mind.
Superstar songstress Celine Dion took to the stage for an emotional performance of classic French song “L’Hymme a L’Amour” in front of a montage of images of Parisian landmarks.
She was introduced by Suicide Squad star Jared Leto, who told the audience that terrorist attacks like those in Mali and Paris have “changed the world forever”.
“France matters. Russia matters. Syria matters. Mali matters. The Middle East matters. The United States matters. The entire world matters and peace is possible”, he said in a passionate speech.

5SOS singer Luke Hemmings also spoke about the effect the Paris attacks have had on the band, saying that "this is the first time any of them have experienced a tragedy like this, so it's important for a band like us to articulate ourselves properly so they understand what's happening."
“What we sing about is important, and it will change what we write about in the future.”
