He might have just won at The Oscars, but Jared Leto has risked the wrath of Jennifer Lawrence's many fans by wondering aloud whether her endearing klutziness might be "an act".

The 42-year-old star of Dallas Buyers Club told Access Hollywood that he was beginning to suspect all might not be as it seems with Hollywood's golden girl.

"You know, I'm starting to wonder if this is a bit of an act," he declared - possibly with his tongue in his cheek.

And he revealed the secret behind J-Law's scolding of audience members as she took to the stage to present the Academy Award for best actor on Sunday.

She was heard telling unknown persons: "Why are you laughing? What, is this funny? I'm still watching you!"

Jared explained: "But what [J-Law] didn't know was that Ellen was on the side…making, pantomiming 'don't fall, don't fall!' - and my mom and brother are all cracking up."

"I guess we don't have manners. You can take them out of Louisiana, but you can't take the Louisiana out of them, right?"
