Jay Z Hits Back Over Glasto
The rapper defends the decision to have him headline the pyramid stage next month
Jay Z has hit back at critics who claim hes the wrong person to headline Glastonbury Festival. In an interview with The Sun he rubbished Noel Gallaghers claims that the event is all about rock music.
He said: We dont play guitars Noel, but hip hop has put in its work like any other form of music.
And Jigga says he cant wait for his June 28 appearance to prove the doubters wrong. "Ive never had a show thats caused this much of a stir so Im really looking forward to it. Whats the big deal about doing a show," said Beyonces husband.
Rapper Jigga also gave a little history lesson: "This headline show is just a natural progression. Rap music is still evolving." He continued: "From Afrika Bambaataa DJ-ing in the Bronx and Run DMC going platinum to Jazzy Jeff And The Fresh Prince winning the first rap Grammy, I'm juts the next in line."
