Since Nirvana’s lead singer Kurt Kobain committed suicide in 1994, his wife Courtney Love has owned the majority stake in the band’s back catalogue, and she previously confirmed that she approved Jigga's request to use the famous lyrics.

In an interview with Huffington Post, Courtney stated: 

"I'm letting Jay-Z use lyrics… Jay-Z's huge and we're friends. They [used it] without asking, which is kind of nervy but the business side has been taken care of so it's fine."


The rapper has also launched his Magna Carta Holy Grail app, which will allow one million users of selected Samsung phones to download the album for free.


Magna Carta Holy Grailwill be released on the Samsung app on July 4 and worldwide on July 7.
