Jay-Z was the show’s headliner but several special guests joined him on stage throughout his set – wife Chris Martin. John Mayerplayed guitar on Samantha Ronsonspun the tunes for celebrity guests such as Kirsten Dunst, Channing Tatumand Mel B.

Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z, who has previously collaborated with Chris Martin, told the BBC at the event that hehoped to get back in the studio with the Coldplaysinger this year. “He's one of the geniuses of our generation. Any time you can collaborate with that sort of genius, you jump at the chance, I don't care who you are.”

Jay also calledChris a “brother from another mother”, saying, “I see him more than my own brother. Actually, I do.”
