Jay-Z is about more than just rap...

The rapper real name, Shawn Carter confirmed that he definitely wants to be a father according to reports:

"Most people dream of having a family someday. So I'm just a regular American boy."

The words came after Jay-Z was honoured this week at the UN Global Leadership Awards Gala in New York for his charitable work - something any father would be proud off!

The Brooklyn rapper has helped to bring clean water to poorer parts of the world notably Africa. Jay revealed that seeing the poverty with his own eyes made him continue his working and donating. He said:

"I went to Africa, spent a couple weeks in Angola. A bunch of different places. That was the whole thing for me. I've given to charities in the past and you close your eyes and cross your fingers and hope that the money gets there. "With this I got to go to Africa, I got to see the water pumps, I got to touch it, I got to see the kids turn them on."

Although Jigga feels the pain, he has no plans to adopt a child from Africa - as other celebrities have done, quite simply the rapper said:

"No, I don't want to bring any kids home."

And so the world waits for Beyonce & Jay-Z...
