People Magazine claims that singer John called the relationship off after the actress returned from Europe- where she was promoting Marley & Me.

Reports earlier this week claimed that Mayer was set to propose to Friends star Aniston but it seems they were way wide of the mark.

A source told People: “They had some disagreements and decided to not continue to see each other. Jen is moving on with her life like she always does. She seems happy."

Jen previously had an eight year relationship with Brad Pitt- who left her for Angelina Jolie.

The couple had recently attended the Oscars together and red carpets for Aniston’s recent movies.
