Jennifer Hudson On New Album 'I Remember Me'
EXCLUSIVE I The star talks to MTV about Whitney Houston & Toni Braxton comparisons...
With her second album looking set to give Jennifer Hudson another chart hit, MTV chatted exclusively to the 29-year old about new disc I Remember Me.
MTV: Congratulations on your new album 'I Remember Me', Ne-Yo has previously stated that you were 'ready to get personal' on this album, how would you describe your new material?
Jennifer Hudson: I would definitely say that it's personal, I would say it’s like a new introduction and in the moment of me right now. 'I Remember Me' is my way of putting into perspective of how I feel right now.

MTV: You've worked with the likes of Ne-Yo and Alicia Keys on this album, what was that like?
Jennifer Hudson: It’s always a pleasure working with Ne-Yo and I’m such a fan of him and he writes great music - and with Alicia, I felt like I had my best music sessions in the studio with her and I think we had really good chemistry together.
I feel like I learned a lot, it was definitely a learning experience, like being in the studio and thinking 'wow I can do that', I might be able to produce and write music for other artist, much like Alicia or Ne-Yo.
MTV: The album has had glowing reviews, with Rolling Stone comparing you to Whitney Houston and Toni Braxton, how does that make you feel?
Jennifer Hudson: That is like the hugest compliment ever! Whitney Houston is someone that I have always admired as well as Toni Braxton, again that’s a huge compliment.
Jennifer Hudson's new album, I Remember Me, is out on now.
