Jennifer Hudson 'Relieved' After Murder Trial Verdict
William Balfour found guilty of murdering three family members...
Jennifer Hudson has said she is 'relieved' after her estranged brother-in-law William Balfour was found guilty of murdering her mother, brother and seven-year-old nephew.
The actress not only appeared as a witness but attended every day of the trial in Chicago, and was reportedly close to tears as the guilty verdict was announced.
Jurors retired to consider the case on Thursday before convicting Balfour last night. He now faces a mandatory life prison sentence for the murders of Darnell Donerson, Jason Hudson and Julian King.
According to The Mirror, state attorney Anita Alvarez said: "I spoke with Jennifer and Julia Hudson after the verdict just a few minutes ago.
"They are both very pleased and very appreciative of the cooperation that we have provided for them. They are relieved, and we hope that this verdict gives them some sense of justice."
The paper also reports that Jennifer said she will not talk to the media about the verdict.
