Jennifer Lawrence Among Stars Set To Join All-Female Reboot Of Ocean’s Eleven

Sandra Bullock's already onboard.

First it was Ghostbusters, and now classic noughties casino caper Ocean’s Eleven is getting an all-female reboot.

Jennifer Lawrence is high on the studio’s hit list to join the new squad, and given that the film will be directed by her old Hunger Games collaborator Gary Ross, don’t be surprised if J-Law is the next big name to join the fun. Maybe in the Matt Damon role? Seems like a good fit to us, AND she’s not the only Oscar-winning actresss looking at joining the lineup.

Besides, Ross was the man who came up with the idea in the first place, having pitched the motion of an all-female remake to former director Steven Soderbergh, and getting the green light.

Cate Blanchett, meanwhile, is apparently in line to take a similar role to the one played by Brad Pitt. It certainly looks like Sony is setting the bar high with its casting choices, and Blanchett’s potential involvement prolongs the possibility of an all Oscar-winning squad, with Sandra Bullock already on board in the George Clooney role.

Nothing is definite at this stage, but it’s thought that Blanchett is keen on the project, with filming slated to get underway later this year.

The project is apparently being referred to as Ocean’s Ocho, suggesting we’re going to get an eight-woman posse in total. Glamorous con-artists ASSEMBLE!
