Jennifer Lawrence Is Calling For Celebrities To Be More “Honest” About Their Bodies

Because nobody just wakes up with a perfectly toned physique.

Jennifer Lawrence has opened up about the realities of living in the public eye and has pointed out that most celebrities don’t just wake up looking like they’ve stumbled off a photoshoot for a fitness magazine.

The actor revealed in an interview with InStyle that she’s fed up of A-listers glossing over their intense workout regimes and pretending that their abs just popped up overnight after weeks of eating nothing butDoritos.

Arguing that celebrities have a duty to their fans to be honest about their bodies, she said: "I just like it when everyone's honest. If you are 20 pounds underweight and talk about eating pizza and fried chicken all the time, that's not going to make people feel good about themselves.

"If I'm going to the Oscars or having a movie premiere — I won't lie — I'm probably eating differently from how I would in my regular life to fit into those dresses. And I feel comfortable saying that," she added.

The 28-year-old made it clear that looking after your appearance isn’t something to be ashamed of: “If you want to feel beautiful, whether that means extending your eyelashes or bringing out your natural lip color or whatever it is, then you should. There's nothing wrong with that. It's only a problem when you’re doing it for someone else.”

As for when she feels at her strongest, J-Law said that she feels at her best during a gym workout, but admitted that she can rarely psyche herself up to bother going in the first place.

Forever relatable.
