Jess Glynne Is Number 1 With Second Album 'Always In Between'

The 'All I Am' singer makes 2018 history, while Little Mix made a mighty return with 'Woman Like Me'...

Congrats are in order for Jess Glynne, who scores her second Number 1 album on the Official Albums Chart with her second attempt'Always In Between'.

The release was highly anticipated following the record-breaking success of its lead single 'I'll Be There' and the fact it was her first set in three years, when her Number 1 debut'I Cry When I Laugh'was released.

Jess' second album earns its place at the top with 36,500 combined sales and makes 2018 history as it is the first album by a British female artist to top the chart this year. Insane, right?

While Dua Lipa has been dominating the UK Singles Chart, new artists like Jorja Smith dropped debutsand Brit-pop veteran Lily Allen made a big return this year, Jess is the first to be Number 1.

In a world dominated by The Greatest Showman, it's not'that'surprising but it is quite disappointing. HOWEVER, this is a time for celebration and we are thrilled for Jess, who undeniably deserves it.

Supported by a special David Guetta remix that arrived last week, the house banger kicks off Dave and Fredo's 'history-making' chart-topper 'Funky Friends' to spend a sixth week at the top.

'Funky Friends' is sitting comfortably at Number 2, however, while Marshmello and Bastille's 'Happier' stays at Number 3.

Meanwhile, Little Mix make a strong debut with the first single of the'LM5'era. The Nicki Minaj-assisted 'Woman Like Me' storms into the chart at Number 5 - a fitting position! - after battling it out for the top spot earlier on in the week.

This makes it the band'sthirteenth Top 10 single (!) and it could easily become their fifth Number 1 as it will inevitably climb higher once its music video drops and they begin to promote it with sure-to-be memorable performances.

Gaga and Cooper's 'Shallow' moves up two spots to Number 4 this week also, becoming Gaga's highest-charting single in seven years since 'Born This Way' peaked at Number 3.

Congrats to all!
