This Huge A Lister Wants A Part In The It Sequel
She looks like the perfect fit for Beverly as an adult.
With the first film having been a monster success at the box office, a sequel to It now has an official green light, with a release date in place for late 2019.
With the film set to follow the Losers Club as adults, there’s been plenty of speculation as to who should play the various members of the gang, with pretty much everybody agreeing that Jessica Chastain would be a good fit for Beverly.
That’s the role played by Sophia Lillis in the first film, and fans have been clamouring for Chastain to play her adult counterpart ever since. Happily, it seems that the star herself agrees, with Chastain revealing that she’d definitely be up for a role in the film, having previously worked with director / producer team Andy and Barbara Muschietti on their other horror movie, Mama.
“Well, I love Andy and Barbara,” explained the star, when the question was put to her in a recent interview. “I worked with them on Andy’s directorial debut, Mama. And you know, Barbara is one of my best friends so we’ll see. Listen, of course, I want to work… they’re my friends. They’re like my family. Anything that they’re doing I want to be a part of, so I hope we can make it happen.”
Sounds good to us! Fingers crossed Chastain will be present and correct to face down Pennywise when the sequel lands in cinemas on 6 September 2019.
