The Wrap reports that the Mama actress will star in Andrew Dominik's forthcoming biopic...
Actress Jessica Chastain will reportedly play Marilyn Monroe in new movie, Blonde.
According to The Wrap, the Zero Dark Thirty star is close to inking a deal to play the screen icon in director Andrew Dominik's biopic.
It is thought that Brad Pitt and Dede Gardner's company Plan B and Worldwide Entertainment will produce the flick, which is based on Carol Oates 2001 novel of the same name.
The Wrap adds that Pitt was " instrumental in convincing" Jessica to play Marilyn.
The film will give viewers an intimate insight into the personal life of Monroe - real name Norma Jeanne Baker - using biographical and historical sources.
Blonde was first confirmed in 2010, with Dominik penning the script for the movie.
Naomi Watts was previously attached to the project, with Dominik letting slip that Chastain was his pick to star in Blonde back in February.
Production is expected to begin on the movie in August.
