Jess 'N' Nick: It's Over

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, whip out the Kleenex and get ready for some hardcore ice cream guzzling.

Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey's marriage is over.

A wave of grief washed over America yesterday as the news spread, and Brits awoke today to find this tide of sorrow lapping at their doorsteps. We thought they would last forever. Sadly cruel fate had other plans.

Our beloved Jess 'n' Nick announced the tragic news in the only manner they know how: in a joint statement to the press. "After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways," the heart-rending missive reads. "This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other. We hope that you respect our privacy during this difficult time."

There it cruelly ends, leaving a thousand questions unanswered. Why? Where? Which? And how much?

The young lovers married in 2002 and their faltering first steps into married life were captured in the popular MTV reality series Newlyweds. Millions around the world avidly followed daily life in their marital home. Now, it appears, the honeymoon is over.
