Jessica Simpson is said to be 'doing great' following the birth of her daughter, Maxwell Drew Johnson.
The Irresistible singer, who welcomed her first child with fiancé Eric Johnson on 1st May, has reportedly settled into her a new role of being a mother, with insiders revealing she's "excited" by her baby's arrival.
A source told US Weekly: "Jessica is doing great and really happy. She's feeling well and relieved the baby is healthy,
"The family will be dedicating the rest of this week and most of next week to helping Jess recuperate and take care of the baby. Eric is super happy as well."
A separate insider added: "Everyone is marvelling at what a natural Jessica is. She was born to be a mum!"
In a statement released shortly after the tots birth, Jessica claimed: "Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson.
"We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!"
They also confirmed that their bundle of joy weighed in at 9lbs and 13oz, with The Price Of Beauty star apparently spending $4,000 a night on a luxury birthing suite at the Cedars-Sinai hospital.
