Jessie J Addresses 'Alive' Album Sales: 'It Doesn’t Mean I’m A Flop'
Star vows to put out more music after her sophomore LP failed to meet the success of debut, Who You Are...
Jessie J has confessed that her second studio album Alive wasn't as successful as she'd hoped.
Alive managed to reach No.3 on the UK album chart last September, but quickly made its exit from the Top 40, with her last single Thunder peaking at No.18.However, her debut album Who You Are gave the star two chart-topping singles and achieved four-time platinum status.
Speaking of her current release, Jessie has been quoted by The Sun as saying: "I’m very aware of how Alive sold, which is why right now I’m working on new music to be put out ASAP.
"I’m a businesswoman as well as an artist and I’m aware Alive didn’t do as well as Who You Are, but that doesn’t mean I’m a flop."
She continued: "It doesn’t mean I’m not talented. It just means I have to re-evaluate what’s going on in my life and what I can improve. It’s funny that people tell me like I wouldn’t see it.
“One year Yves Saint Laurent is the biggest-selling clothing line and the next it’s D&G. You can’t be the person at the top all the time.”
The Essex-born star has already been busy teasing her third LP on Twitter, writing: "Thank you to everyone who supports my music. Now to the studio I go to finish my 3rd album."
Jessie also hit the headlines today (April 9) after being forced to deny reports that she lied about her sexuality at the start of her career.
