JLS 'Have Taken More Risks' On New Album
The lads also tell MTV UK their thoughts on chart rivals Take That...
JLS have exclusively told Take That, who are Robbie Williams' fanbase in itself is staggering, and obviously Take That are selling out stadiums on tour, and doing 20-odd stadium dates around the country, and that’s incredible."
"We’re about to do our first arena tour so you can see the stark contrast between the two, but for us, it’s not about the competition it’s about the contribution, and it’s difficult if you release on any week and obviously it just so happens we’re going up against Take That and whatever happens on the day, happens on the day."
He added: "But obviously we’re always hopeful for a number one, and as my mum always says to me and the boys, 'If you want to be the best you have to beat the best.'"
Marvin agreed with his bandmate, telling us: "It is crazy being up against Take That. I remember when I used to be like 8 or 9, and I used to go to my nan’s house and my auntie used to come home and she was crazy about Take That, especiallyMark Owen."
JB continued: "They’re mentors of ours, they actually mentored us on The X Factor when we did it. They’re boyband royalty. We look to them as the template and you know we try and copy!"
Despite their rivalry in the album chart stakes, Ortise added that if the chances of a duet with the Take That lads ever came up, they would happily accept.
Williams revealed: "Definitely! We welcome that, can MTV hook that up? Come on, MTV, you can do it!"
We will try our best lads...
