JLS Star Oritse Williams Charged With Raping A Fan In A Wolverhampton Hotel Room
The singer previously denied the allegations in a statement via his representatives
Oritse Williams has been charged with rape over an alleged attack on a fan that is said to have taken place in a Wolverhampton hotel room.
The former JLS singer is alleged to have sexually assaulted a 20-year-old woman after a performance at a nightclub and was initially arrested on 2nd December 2016, the day after the incident was said to have occurred.
The 31-year-old previously denied the allegations in a statement via his representatives. At the time, his people told The Mirror: "Ortise denies the allegations against him. The matter is in the hands of the police and it would be totally wrong for us to comment further."
West Midlands said in a statement that Oritse and a friend by the name of Jamien Nagadhana have now been charged with the attack: "Police have charged two men with sexual offences following an allegation of rape at a Wolverhampton hotel in December 2016.
"Oritsé Williams, age 31, from Croydon, London, has been charged with rape. Jamien Nagadhana, aged 31, from Hounslow, London, has been charged with assault by penetration."
JLS rose to fame after appearing on the 2008 series of X Factor. They went on to sell 10 million records before disbanding in 2013. Oritse has since launched his own music firm and began a solo career under the title OWS.
He and Jamien Nagadhana will appear before magistrates on October 11th.
