Fans Outraged As Joan Rivers Left Off Oscars 'In Memoriam' Segment

Fans react as late comedian is omitted from tributes...

She may not have been an Oscar-winning actress or filmmaker, but Joan Rivers was still an influential woman in Academy Awards history.

So when the comedian wasn’t included in last night’s ‘In Memoriam’ segment, which pays tribute to those who have died in the previous year, fans were outraged.

[related]Joan made her mark on the ceremony after hosting the E! network's pre-Academy Awards red carpet with daughter Melissa Rivers from 1995 to 2014.

According to Vanity Fair, the Rivers women “revolutionised the red carpet - from a runway with little celebrity-reporter interaction - into its own brand of entertainment.”

Fans shocked by the omission took to Twitter to express their dismay.

"No Joan Rivers? Tacky to say the least,"tweeted Ryan Parker.
