Kathy Griffin paid tribute to the late Joan Rivers when making her debut on E! series Fashion Police on Monday (January 12).

The funny woman has stepped into Rivers shoes on the style critique show after Rivers sadly passed away, aged 81, last September.

During her first episode, Griffin stated: "Before I start making more enemies and burning new bridges, I want to thank my good friend.

"Joan, I know you are watching from heaven, but I am not afraid to bring the hammer down on anyone."

Kathy joins regular panelists Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic, while former reality star Brad Goreski joins her as a newcomer.

Despite the changes, Griffin was keen to state: "We have a new set, new faces, but our mission remains the same."

"This is what I live for - she looks like she's in a gladiator movie and playing the girlfriend. (We want) class for some people, and for some people we want to see a near-miss of your vagina."

And, when it came to Amal Clooney's white-gloved get-up, she added: "She had those gloves that reminded me of a prom scene. When she said she made them herself, I said, 'Yeah, no s**t.'

"She used those bovine insemination gloves, but nobody gets a pass because you are married to George Clooney."

Rivers would be proud!
