Joan Rivers Storms Out Of Interview

The E! Fashion Police host walked out of an interview aired on CNN..

Comedienne Joan Rivers stormed out of an interview with CNN yesterday (5 July).

The funnywoman clashed with news anchor Fredricka Whitfield over questions about her new book and her role as host of E!'s Fashion Police.

The interviewer suggested that Rivers has a 'shock value' to her comedy.

She also questioned if Rivers donning fur on the front cover of her new book would rile animal rights activists.

"You're eating chicken, you're eating meat. I don't wanna hear this nonsense! Come to me with a paper belt and I'll talk to you," Rivers responded.

She also defended her comedy as host of the Fashion Police show, adding: "Life is very tough, and if you can make a joke to make something easier and funny, do it - done."

The 81-year-old told the host that their chat was "becoming a defensive interview" before removing her earpiece and walking off set.

"You know, I'm going. I'm really, I'm going, because all you have done is negative," she said before leaving.

"I've made people laugh for 50 years. I am put on earth to make people laugh. My book is funny."

Rivers ended by remarking: "You are not the one to interview a person who does humour - sorry!"

The comic's outburst came as a shock to the reporter, who explained that Rivers didn't return to the interview afterwards.
