Former X Factor Star Joe McElderry Hits Back At ‘Weight Gain’ Body Shamers
Not today, trolls.
On Tuesday (August 18), former X Factor winner Joe McElderry appeared on ITV’s This Morning to chat about his latest musical venture.
But instead of talking about his work, viewers of the show were quick to point out that Joe had gained a bit of weight – and it all ended up being quite an awful bit of body shaming.
We’ve all been there… The front camera on your phone. A dodgy low angle that makes you look like a thumb. It happens on the reg.
But one slightly unflattering picture of Joe caused him to start trending on Twitter, which just proves how depressing the world can be sometimes.
Luckily, he didn’t take the whole thing too seriously, soon tweeting afterwards: “Oh don't you just love the worst angled photo ever that makes you look like a slug!”
But that wasn’t all. Now, Joe’s decided to put a middle finger up to those who were going on about his weight by posting a (fit) shirtless selfie for the world to see, captioning it: “Just took my full figured little ass to the gym and thought I take a little pic #dailymail #fail”.
That’ll do it!
At the end of the day, no matter what a person’s shape or size it, we really shouldn’t take it upon ourselves to point out every single thing WE think is wrong with someone. Not a cute look.
And anyways, we should focus on more important things… Like the fact that Joe is followed by actual Harry Styles on Twitter. LIFE GOALS.
