John Barrowman Gets Married In California

John Barrowman has married his long-term love Scott Gill in California.

 

The former Doctor Who and Torchwood star announced the news by posting a video clip on WhoSay yesterday (2 July).

 

Speaking directly to the camera, Barrowman said: "It's five after one and we've got our coffee and we're in the car ready to leave, because where are we going, Scott?"

 

Gill, John's partner of 20 years, then gets his turn on screen to say: "To get married. Yay!"

 

Barrowman then added: "We're getting married in the state of California. Thank you Supreme Court, about time you made it legal. See you after we have the ceremony!"

 

The happy couple later posted a snap of themselves with the caption: "We are now legally married. Thanks for all your great wishes. JB and Scott."

 

 

The Supreme Court's decision to overturn the Defence of Marriage Act banning same-sex marriages was widely celebrated by the gay community last week - with long-time supporter of gay rights Lady GaGa making a moving speech at the Gay Pride rally in New York.
