John Cena Set To Star In 'Duke Nukem' Movie
Here's everything we know about the upcoming Duke Nukem movie.
Retro gaming fans, you’re in for an absolute treat, because according to reports, there’s a big screen version of classic shoot-em-up Duke Nukem on the way. Better still, Michael Bay, Transformers director and maestro of all things explodey, is in place to produce. And BEST OF ALL? John Cena is apparently in talks to star.
For those of you not familiar with the original game, it follows the ass-kicking exploits of the titular hero, as he wise-cracks his way through repelling an alien invasion. Big on crass, crude humour, it sounds like the perfect property for an action-comedy makeover, and Cena looks like a great fit to play the man himself.
There’s no director in place just yet, but Cena is apparently Bay’s personal pick for the role. The duo are already set to link up on Transformers prequel Bumblebee, which is set to land in cinemas later this year. And given that the Duke Nukem franchise is about on par with the WWE for overblown, cheese-stuffed spectacle, it sounds like the perfect team-sheet to us…
