John Legend is working on a found-footage dance film, Deadline reports.

The All Of Me hitmaker has apparently collaborating with Step Up: All In screenwriter John Swetnam on the flick, titled Breaking Through.

The website describes the movie as a “documentary-style dance drama for the YouTube generation" - with it set to be the first feature of its kind, combining two sub-genres, dance movies and found footage.

Casting for the film is expected to start soon, and will see producers looking to discover new dance talent, much like the Step Up series.

Swetnam will make his directorial debut on the picture - which will be produced through Mad Horse Films, while Legend's company Get Lifted Films is also supporting the project.

In other related news, Legend topped the first official UK streaming chart this week with All Of Me, beating the likes of Clean Bandit and Aloe Blacc to the No.1 spot.
