John Newman Lands First UK Number One Single
As Glasto headliners Mumford & Sons return to the top of the albums chart...
John Newman has topped the Official UK Singles Chart with his debut single Love Me Again.
Newman - who has previously collaborated with Rudimental - sold 125,000 copies of his first single, taking him straight to No 1.
He told the Official Charts Company: "As a debut act it's incredible to get a single to number one, a great experience and hopefully the start of many more things to come. Thank you!"
Former chart-topper Blurred Lines, by Robin Thicke, stayed firm at No 2, while Swedish duo Icona Pop dropped to third place with I Love It.
Will.I.Am's Bang Bang also fell one position to No 4, while Naughty Boy's La La La was a non-mover at No 5.
Over in the Official UK Albums Chart, Mumford & Sons returned to the No 1 spot following their headlining set at the Glastonbury Festival - their LP Babel climbed 15 places to take the top spot after 41 weeks in the chart.
Michael Bublé's To Be Loved also climbed, reaching No 2, as Tom Odell's Long Way Down dropped from the top of the charts to No 3.
Jake Bugg's self-titled album rose to No 4, and the top five was rounded by Rod Stewart with Time.
