John Travolta On Oscars Name Gaffe
Actor admits he was mortified after mangling Idina Menzel's name at Academy Awards...
John Travolta has spoken out about the awkward moment in which he mangled the name of Idina Menzel as he introduced her at The Oscars.
The veteran actor told the world that they were about to hear "Adela Dazeem" as he spoke before her performance of Let It Go from hit movie Frozen.
And the blunder has led to a rash of internet mickey taking - including a fake Twitter account and a website where users can get their own name "Travoltafied".
But the star of Saturday Night Fever and Grease has now issued a statement on the subject - and appears to be taking the fuss in good humour.
"I've been beating myself up all day. Then I thought, 'What would Idina Menzel say?' She'd say, 'Let it go, let it go!'
"Idina is incredibly talented, and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars Sunday night."
Let It Go won best original song at the awards, with Frozen taking the gong for best animated feature.
