Johnny Depp To Appear In New Paul McCartney Video
Hollywood star teams up with pop legend for tribute to beginning of The Beatles...
As arguably the closest thing we have to pop music royalty, Paul McCartney is understandably able to call in favours from his famous friends from time to time.
And the 72-year-old legend has recruited Hollywood star Johnny Depp to appear alongside him in the video for his new single, Early Days.
Paying tribute to the origin of The Beatles, the video is directed by Vincent Haycock.
He says: "This film is a poetic homage to the legendary beginnings of Paul McCartney and John Lennon's relationship.
"Their story at its core is a universal one, two young kids who bond over their passion for music and form a band and friendship.
"This video is about them, and every band, and every kid who has suffered the ups and downs of starting a band, whether or not they became successful."
And the filmmaker - who won an MTV VMA for his promo for Calvin Harris' Feel So Close - said it was an unforgettable experience working with Macca and Depp.
"Paul's scene was incredibly fun to create. It was just him, some blues players and Johnny Depp jamming on set all day.
"Patti Smith also turned up on set and hung out, which made the crew very happy! One of my favourite days of filming ever."
Early Days is taken from McCartney's 16th solo album NEW, which hit No 3 in the Official UK Albums Chart last year.
