It's usually the best man's job to inject a bit of humour into proceedings at a wedding, so we pity the poor sap doing that job for Adam Levine at the weekend.

Why? Because Hollywood funnyman Jonah Hill was officiating at the Maroon 5 star's wedding toBehati Prinsloo - and must have been a pretty tough act to follow.

The 22 Jump Street star fulfilled his duties at the ceremony in Cabo San Lucas on Saturday evening.

A source told E! News: "Jonah was hysterical. He was telling so many jokes, but then in the middle would be so sweet and sincere".

The source explained that Jonah and Adam had been friends for "such a long time", and that the actor praised Levine in his speech, saying that he's a "wonderful guy and has so much to give".

"He also talked about how sweet Behati is and how perfect they are for one another", the source added.

The insider also revealed a few details of the comedy actor's bit during the ceremony.

One of Jonah's jokes revolved around how he and Levine would always skateboard with Robert Downey Jr. and Stevie Nicks - who performed at the event - when they were younger.

"He set up the joke perfectly. His timing was amazing. Everyone was giggling", the source continued.

Jonah Hill wasn't the only officiant at the wedding.

Behati's dad, who is a minister, gave a blessing during the ceremony before the couple said their own, hand-written vows.

Designer Marchesa confirmed that the Victoria's Secret model's dress for the ceremony was a floor-length lace and silk-tulle number, before she changed into a plainer white gown for the reception.

Levine performed withNicks during the festivities.

Behati also took to the stage to sing Bright Eyes for her new hubby, which was apparently a bet they'd made between them after the model told him it was a song she wanted to sing if ever she got married.
