Joss Stone Gives Evidence At Murder Plot Trial
Singer says security at her Devon home was very relaxed...
Joss Stone appeared in court yesterday (March 19) to give evidence at the trial of two men who plotted to murder her.
As we previously reported, Kevin Liverpool and Junior Bradshaw have been accused of conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to rob and conspiracy to commit GBH against Stone, with it emerging that the pair had planned to "decapitate" the singer in June 2012.
During the hearing, Joss told how she only found out about their sinister plans when police arrived at her Devon home - admitting that it had started out as a normal day.
Stone said: "Apart from someone coming around to say someone is trying to kill me, it was a really nice day."
She also told the court that security at her pad was very relaxed, stating that she never used a burglar alarm or locked her front door, revealing: "I've lived in Devon for a long time and nobody really shuts their door... but I do now."
It is currently unknown why Liverpool and Bradshaw were keen to kill the You Had Me hitmaker, with Simon Morgan QC suggesting it could have been down to Stone's connections with the Royal family.
He explained: "Joss Stone associates with members of the royal family. Her concerts have been attended by members of that family and she was invited to the royal wedding at the very end of April that year. Hence, the crown say, she was a target."
Both Liverpool and Bradshaw deny the charges. The trial continues.
