“It’s to the point where I love and I hate you” Juice WRLD sings on his hit single “Lucid Dreams”. Capturing the minds of a generation who have embraced the emo rap genre and relate to Juice WRLDs melodic rap style. Reflected in his current music, influences from rock music and Chicago drill come through on “Lucid Dreams”. Reaching number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, this track shot the young Chicagoan to fame and he has since released his debut album Goodbye & Good Riddance which peaked at number 15 on the Billboard 200. At his sold out show in London, he told MTV: “I want people to know, whether they like what the song is about, whether they agree what the song is about or whether that songs relates to something they’re going through - I want them to take from every song that it’s ok to speak your mind” The Soundcloud phenomenon started making waves with his debut single “All Girls Are The Same” – finding millions of fans online through the streaming platform, he was then signed by Interscope Records who have helped boost him into heights he could only have dreamed of when he started rap freestyling in high school. “I think I wrote my first song when I was in 6th or 7th grade and I use to write and study all day, instead of doing my homework I use to be writing raps the whole time.” He’s come a long way since then, recently teaming up with fellow rapper Future on joint album Wrld On Drugs that peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200. Speaking of his newfound success, he said “Everything is so surreal right now that I only have moments of reality, like reality checks, little moments like wow I’m standing in front of several thousand people right now.
