11 Celebrities Who Stayed Friends With Their Exes
We all have our favourite celebrity couples who we root for and hope will stay together forever. As we grow up, however, we realise these wishes may be slightly unrealistic, never mind unfair.
Would Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake'really'have worked out for the best? Would Rihanna and Drake ever last? Considering it's hard enough when 'not'famous, we can't imagine possibly trying to keep things alive when you're both touring opposite sides of the world or one of you is shipped off to New Zealand for six months to film a new movie.
Although, everyone is guilty of having that one couple they wish could've worked out. It isn't always bad, though!
Once the heartbreak wears off, a lot of celebrities have shown us that it's actually fairly easy to remain friends and - for some - even work together again. BFFs with our exes, eh? Who'd have thought!
Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney
These two seemed like a match made in heaven, however things were always friendly even after Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney broke off their engagement in July 2016. While fans hoped for them to get back together, Gaga said "He's been my lover and a friend for so long. We love each other. That's it." Fair enough - what we did get to see is when Taylor sent Gaga flowers on the day of her Super Bowl halftime performance, which was documented in her Five Foot Two film. Awww!
Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas
One for the history books, Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas getting married was every Camp Rock fan's biggest dream for years. While many believed that the pair dated from filming the first movie in 2008, Demi revealed that things only became romantic in 2010 when they dated briefly for a few months. However, their bond will last forever as they have stayed close ever since. From touring together to hanging out privately - as seen in Demi's Simply Complicated documentary - their friendship will last forever. Now that's love!
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom
Who doesn't remember'those'paddle boardingphotos? Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have been in an on-off relationship since 2016. For now, we believe they're definitely 'off', however they have spoken publically about their friendship being solid regardless of their romantic involvement. After they split in early 2017, they were seen together, sending fans into a frenzy, to which Katy said: "It’s nice to keep people you love around you. For me, it’s never so extreme. So, when you get older, lines get blurred."
Justin Bieber and Caitlin Beadles
He may be engaged to model Hailey Baldwin now but Justin Bieber's first public romance was with Caitlin Beadles. The pair dated between 2008 and 2009 just as the Biebs' music career was blowing up, however things never got sour between the two. Not only is Justin best friends with Caitlin's older brother but they all spent last Thanksgiving together, showing that it's all love between them.
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony
J-Lo is perhaps the best person to go to for advice when needing to be amicable with an ex. Miss Lopez has stayed incredibly close with ex-husband Marc Anthony since they divorced in 2011. The pair have two children together who they successfully co-parent, however they stll share a genuine friendship that is nothing but admirable to watch. They have collaborated musically since splitting up and Anthony is currently executive producing J-Lo's upcoming Spanish album (!!).Now'that'is ex goals.
Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz
It was a Hollywood dream when pop superstar Justin Timberlake and A-list actress Cameron Diaz got together, however their romance ending didn't cause any bad blood between the two. After splitting over a decade ago, they reunited on film when they both starred in the 2011 comedy Bad Teacher. When asked how both stars being cast was to deal with, Diaz simply said it "really wasn't a big deal." Handled like a pro!
