Cops later expressed that they were keen to talk to Biebs, but he has been out of the country since the incident occurred, performing a string of shows in Norway, France and most recently, Mexico City.
According to The Sun, police are now hoping to quiz the Boyfriend singer when he returns to the US this week, with a lawyer stating yesterday (13th June): "He will definitely be called in for questioning.”
Police also stated they want to talk to Selena regarding the episode, with Sgt Michael Holland recently telling Radar Online: "The only statement that has been given is from the alleged victim and other eyewitnesses, including Mr. Bieber's girlfriend, Selena Gomez, need to be interviewed. "
"At some point very soon, I anticipate that detectives will formally reach out to Justin Bieber for a request for an interview, although he isn't under any obligation to do so and neither is his girlfriend."
While the Los Angeles sheriff confirmed to The Sun that the case was still under investigation, Bieber has declined to comment.
